picture it. ‘60 minutes,’ about five minutes ago. of course i knew the routine: “i’m mike wallace. i’m ed bradley. i’m morley safer.” or however it exactly goes.
i had heard this shtickle a million times, but i had never watched it. i would hear it while playing on the upstairs computer, from the downstairs television where my dad was watching, for example. i never really watched the show either, but am familiar with the clicking timepiece thing.
anyway, tonite was the first time i actually watched the beginning.
morley safer is a GUY! oh. my. god. i always thought - hell, i KNEW - that morley safer was a girl, who looked like maria shriver, but less pointy. but now i found out that he is a guy? and an old, shrively guy at that?
i half dont believe it myself, and am beginning to suspect that i was just watching it wrong, or something, and morley safer is really the woman i always suspected him to be. this is completely screwing my neurons here. wow.
any other similar (or not) moments of the zundane (zen+mundane) out there?
