Museum Virtual Tours

If you like museums, and don’t already have enough online content, this article has links to 12 museums that offer virtual tours. I have really been enjoying the Rijksmuseum so far.

Neato!

Thanks, Southern Yankee.

if you enjoy those, then you’re probably in the right frame of mind to take the occasional look at this - https://artsandculture.google.com/.

Thanks, Banksiaman. It looks like Google Arts and Culture is involved in some of the museum tours too. Good stuff.

I always have my students take the virtual tour of Ellis Island that Scholastic made.

If anyone has kids at home and you need a packet that walks them through it and has them locate answers to Q’s from it, let me know and I can send you the packet.

A very educational and fun(videos, audio, many things) experience.

That’s an excellent way to avoid goose shit.

I’ve never actually been there. I’d love to go, though. Been teaching bout it for years.

I’ve been there twice and loved it.

In a similar vein of museums and art, I recently read about this app: Smartify and it gets great reviews. It provides augmented reality tours of various museums and gives you detail about the artwork.

When we travel we always check out the local art museums and try to do a tour or audio tour while there. Unfortunately, they usually only provide a overview of the collections. It sounds like this has lots more detail on more (all?) of the artwork. It’s at 30 museums and growing now.

All that said, I haven’t used it yet, but will next time we go somewhere they have museums. If anyone’s used it, what’s your review?
