Music in the AT&T "Christo" commercial

You know the AT&T commercial that’s been running lately where they are draping buildings and famous landmarks in orange cloth? Anybody know what the song is that they’re playing in that commercial?

“From the Morning,” by Nick Drake.

No idea, but I was not aware that you could totally rip someone’s life’s work off by having a lame disclaimer at the end that you weren’t ripping off their work.

The very least AT&T should do is help Christo do some of these thing in real life. I’d like to see the Gateway arch draped.

The only reason they put that disclaimer there is because he threatened to sue since people might think he endorses AT&T.

Well, they should also have a disclaimer that they aren’t ripping off the Sony Bravia ads.

The Sony UK (I think) ads used a Jose Gonzalez track a LOT like the AT&T ad, and had colorful balls (later paint and play-doh) in slow motion.

I thought this was the next version of those ads until the third time, when I noticed the logo at the end.

I understand, but does the disclaimer allow them to shamelessly ape his very distinctive artwork? I remember Eric Clapton sued a beer company for hiring an Eric Clapton sound-alike - and won (never mind the fact that Clapton has spent his whole career imitating old black blues men.)

Then he should sue on behalf of Nick Drake for associating Drake with such a shitty company.
