TV shows would sometimes make their own unofficial music videos which the artist almost certainly had nothing to do with, like this one Top of the Pops made for Bowie’s “Knock on Wood”, or this one the Old Grey Whistle Test made for Zep’s “Trampled Underfoot”.
It was more than “kinda weird.” It’s seriously trippy, and George’s crazy grin doesn’t help matters.
Night Flight preceded MTV by a couple of months. It showed on the USA Network cable channel late at night. It was a mix of videos and other content.
Is that THE Neil Innes (Monty Python, Bonzo Dog Doo-Dah Band and The Rutles) in drag, pushing a clearly trippin’ George in a baby carriage?
