Musical Geography: A Game

Alright, here’s the deal. I’m going to name a country, and someone else has to name an artist or group that has had a top-ten hit on the U.S. Billboard chart and the name of the song that got them there, then add another country. Each country should only be used once. We’ll start out with an easy one.

Australia

Kylie Minogue

‘I should be so lucky’

Spain

Oops!

If Kylie didn’t make it, do the Bee Gees count?

Night Fever

Spain

Los Del Mar, Macarena

Belgium

You’re right. Kylie didn’t quite make it with “I Should Be So Lucky.” It only made it to #28 in the U.S.

You did score however with the Brothers Gibb and “Night Fever.”

Lara Fabian

“I Will Love Again”

Nigeria

I think the two middle aged men that sang the Macarena, where called Los del Río.

Sade

Smooth Operator

Colombia (album, not single)

(And although the OP didn’t specify, let’s open it up to all Billboard categories, not just pop singles, or we’ll run out of countries pretty quick.)

Colombia…

I’m guessing Billboard’s Latin music charts…

La tierra del olvido-Carlos Vives

Or is it the new Aterciopelados album?

For Colombia, I was thinking of Shakira. But there’s probably several Colombians that would fill the bill.

Colibri…I also thought about Shakira, but I do not know the names of the album(s). I typed Carlos Vives because I know the name of the album, and it caused a little scandal some years ago. The cover had a drawing of coca leaves. Eh…what country can I type?..well…
Mexico

Los Lobos: La Bamba

They’re originally from Mexico, right?
Canada

Who knows about Los Lobos???In the meantime…Canada:

Alanis Morisette

You Oughta Know
Ironic
Thank U

Among others…
Argentina
