Thank to all the help.
What is the name of a musical that involves or is based or something of board games?

Chess? This was a musical written by the two guys from ABBA.
From Rodgers & Hammerstein’s Operator!:
Ooooooo-perator
Make a wrong move and your patient’s dead.
To remove a spleen
Is really keen
Except when his nose buzzes to RED!
From West Side Monopoly:
I like to win at Monopoly!
Buy a hotel in Monopoly!
Do Not Pass Go in Monopoly!
The dice I throw in Monopoly!
And don’t forget the classic:
Fiddler on the Chute (& Ladder)
How to Succeed in Backgammon without Really Trying
South Pacific (Battleship Edition)
Then of course there’s Murder, She Guessed the short lived TV series based on the board game Clue, but that doesn’t help you much, does it?
More lyrics:
Don’t cry for me, I’m so SORRY![sup]TM[/sup]
I really didn’t mean to bump you.
I popped the bubble
The dice rolled seven
I’m now the winner! You are the loser!
If I find a ladder, I go up and up and up and up and up and up and up!
But If I run into a damn chute, then I go-a tumbling down!
I…Hope I find a Ladder! Then I will pass you and keep on going very very high!..
Oh, and I meant Rodgers & Hammerstein’s Operation! (I need to go to the theater more).
ArchiveGuy, I didn’t think West Side Monopoly handled the subject half as well as Rent. And I hope you’re not forgetting The Phantom of the Operation!
the_duke, are you sure it was musical? It could be you’re thinking of Othello, by William Shakespeare.
O Twister!
I just played a game they call Twister!
And suddenly a game
Will never be the same to me!
I kissed her!
And only because I played Twister!
Now red and blue and green
Are the only dots I can See!
When you see a bore
Play a triple-word score
Then you know he’s a Scrabble geek all the way!
Why does he get the vowels & the Ns and the Ts
But I’m stuck with the Q, the X and the J, and even the Z?
But I’ll get his goat
I’ve got Websters by rote
And I’ll stun him with my Vocabulary!
But I’m all out of guesses
I’ve got nothing but Vs & S’s
Oh no Scrabble is just not the game for me!
Bah! It’s just like electronic battleship–more bells & whistles but without the heart of the original!
I’ll take Robert Preston’s classic rendition of You Got TROUBLE[sup]TM[/sup], My Friends! over any of your new-fangled music-games!
I had a chance to see Mousetrap in London.
When that plastic cage landed on Michael Caine, the audience went nuts.
I hear they’re planning a new show based on Nixon’s piano skills. Surely they’ll include a big production number of his Checkers speech.
What good is sitting all along in your room, playing some solitaire?
Come to the cribbage board, oh chum–come and sit down and play!
What’s the capitol of Saskatchewan?
What’s the name of the first album by Celine Dion?
I don’t care if I
Don’t complete my pie,
I just love playing Trivial Pursuit!
I know a game named Stratego!
The sides are red and blue, you know
It’s like a war–not bloody though!
Stratego, I could play all day! (ole!)
As a serious reply to the OP, I’d say Chess (based on chess) and Tommy (written by The Who and involving pinball) would be your best bets. I’m not aware of any other musicals involving board games. Guys and Dolls has poker and craps, I guess.
