I’ve got one too that I’ve been throwing nickels and pennies in for about a year and a half and it is barely over the first ridge on the bottom.

Just for fun,I’m using a Crown Royal Bottle for the dimes. It will hold about 75-80 dollars worth of them.

They already round to the nearest penny (the sales tax is 0.0875 here in Los Angeles, so you certainly are not getting an even one cent on most transactions), so why not round to the nickle (or dime).

We should let people round all transactions to the nearest nickle, and send out the word that the penny will not be valid tender after a year or so. A quick boost to the economy will follow, as millions of people clean the pennies out of the sock drawer and use the money to buy bubble gum.

Junk the Penny! (OK, you can save your penny books!)
