Does anyone know if there’s any web sites where you can find and hopefully compair redemption levels for various mutual funds and fund familes? I’ve read where in recent weeks redemption rates (people cashing out of funds) are nearing historic levels and what the possible implications of “redemption pressures” might be.
My concern is most directly with the Smith Barney fund family. Recent disclosure of SB’s parent company City Group and their investment banking relationship with Enron coupled with Jack Grubman, a SB anaylst who’s overly optomistc stock rateings on and his financial ties to Enron have been well established. My fear is that these negative associations will cause the “flight to cash” in SB funds to be greater than aother funds who are contending with the market slide without wearing the “scarlet E.”
My parents are invested with City Group and while otherwise content to ride the current market out I’m wondering how much effort I should put into persuading them to undergo the expense of switching to another family of funds.
