Mutual Funds & Investing in general (in Canada)

I’ve read the book The Wealthy Barber and am ready to do the invest 10% of your income deal. The question is, what do I do?
I know absolutely nothing about these topics… and my book was a US copy unfortunately, so there was no information that was Canadian specific.

Can anyone recommend some publication(s) that will explain what all the various options are (such as Canadian only, American or Foriegn mutual funds), good companies to invest with, what sort of returns to expect.

Etc, etc.

Basically, I need a complete education on the subject!

Thanks…

Read up. Then look in the yellow pages under “investment advisors.”

Good luck.

Wooba:

The first thing I would do is buy a book called “The Wall Street Journal Guide to Money and Investing.” It costs $23.50 in Canada. It can be read in one sitting and is divided into Five sections; Money, Stocks, Bonds, Mutual Funds and Futures and Options. It helped me get through my financial management class, and I refer to it on a daily basis. It is without a doubt the most useful tool I have as an investor.
