Hi,
I’m involved in a self directed anuity fund at work. We get to pick which funds our annuity goes into. My question is should I be selling my funds when they do good and buy back in when they are low or is there someone already doing that with the stocks within the fund?
Thanks for any advice
Ed
Yes, fund managers, generally speaking, will buy and sell investments within their fund, to meet the fund objective. Their are different kinds of funds w/ different objectives. You should educate youself about mutual funds in general and especially in the funds you’re invested with. For people who don’t know much about mutuals, probably the best bet is a well established index fund w/ a proven track record. In any investment potfolio, you should never put all yor eggs in one basket, there’s safety in diversification.
How does a self-directed annuity differ from owning actual shares of a mutual fund, indexed fund or stocks?
