My oldest daughter just presented a poster at a conference, though she’s only been in grad school for 3 months. Dan Ariely (author of Predictably Irrational) actually remembered her from a dinner two weeks before at her department. And she got a perfect score on her GREs.
One of our Yorkie puppies JUST pooped on the piddle pad! Yeaaaaa, Harley!
We have to take our successes where we find them!
At the dinner table last night, my two year old had a bit of gas. I said, “What do you say?” and he stood up on the chair and yelled, “FARTYPANTS!” He’s a comic genius.
My husband made me stop laughing.
My nine-month-old can walk and talk. He took his first steps one day after he turned 8 months old. Now he can manage 5 or 7 at a time. He says “mama”, “dada”, “a ball”, and his newest is “up high” - when he wants a high-five. My first boy didn’t even stand on his own until 11 months.
My one year old has been walking since he was around 9 months, and has graduated to running. Very very fast running. As in, I have to put him on his back to give myself a headstart to put up the gates to make sure he doesn’t tumble down the steps, cause he can run faster than I can walk over to them. If he’s on his back I get an extra second while he gets to his feet.
And he said thank you for the first time two nights ago when I handed him something. I was very excited.
