"My Affair with Desi". Was it a real article?

I was watching Before the Laughter about Lucille Ball and Desi Arnaz and Lucy sees Desi on the cover of the Hollywood Expose magazine with the title “My Affair with Desi”. I want to read the article but could not find it on google. Any idea if this article was even real of was it just made up to make the “documentary movie” more interesting?

This page – a history of Confidential Magazine – indicates that there was an article in it claiming Desi Arnez picked up a prostitute.

So the article definitely existed. It appeared in 1954. It looks like he did hire the prostitute years before then, and possibly before he married Lucy.

NPR confirms it.

Found an excerpt from the original article. It’s the first item. Seems to date from January 1955, which meant it was on the newstands in December of 1954.
