A moment’s reflection should reveal to you that his appearance can’t be “from” anything about his pre-resurrection life, because he is immortal first of all, and omnipotent second of all. Immortality means his body doesn’t work the same way ours does, so there is no reason to think his pre-resurrection career would have anything to do with the shape of his post-resurrection body. Moreover his omnipotence means anything that happens is not “because” of anything except his own intentions–he appears however he wants.
ScottRP,
Nothing is impossible. The goal of vibrations is to plant the seeds of stardust rather than ego.
Yes, it is possible to exterminate the things that can disrupt us, but not without growth on our side.
Reality has always been buzzing with storytellers whose dreams are immersed in inseparability. We are in the midst of an advanced awakening of awareness that will tap into the world itself.
Who are we? Where on the great story will we be aligned? Humankind has nothing to lose. We are at a crossroads of guidance and materialism.
Our conversations with other dreamweavers have led to an ennobling of hyper-higher consciousness. Through naturopathy, our hearts are opened by inspiration.
Wellbeing requires exploration. To navigate the journey is to become one with it. Growth is the richness of self-actualization, and of us.
This quest never ends. Imagine a summoning of what could be. We must recreate ourselves and unify others.
Not to mention the intractablity of unbelievers. I can go to church, I can read the Bible, I can get baptized, but I cannot choose to believe in any deity. It’s only a ‘choice’ in the sense the OP can decide there isn’t a God and he his instead delusional.
If you can’t beat 'em, join 'em.
Depends on if He threw it.
The real question is can God hit a Koufax curveball?
For all the people who have witnessed here, I don’t recall reading that any of them actually SAW something. This could change everything. For it has been written, that seeing is believing. So how often do you see these visions?
I saw David Copperfield fly. And predict the future! Plus he walked through a wall, and even appeared out of thin air on a motorcycle! Right there in the audience with me!
I’ve been a Jew ever since. (I mean, yeah, I was a Jew before that, but I kept up.)
This is the kind of stuff that always cracks me up in church.
Premature resolution of your conflict, if coming to Love the lord is your story arc. You don’t want to start off there. Yes, I understand that your narrative is going to deposit you back in that “loving the Lord” space but how is it going to be different if it didn’t take permanently the first time?
Perhaps something along the lines of “When I was a nine year old boy, I believed in Christian theology, having been raised with it, and would have told you I loved the Lord…”
Too close to a worn cliché as worded (“on the wing of an angel”); people will giggle. “standing (or sitting or whatever) on an airplane’s wing” would work better here
Whoa whoa whoa whoa. Was there a process involved? Was it gradual or sudden? You make it sound like you became itchy or something. You don’t just “become agnostic” out of nowhere, generally speaking. And avoid “got lost”. Yeah I know it’s nomenclature used by the saved-folk. Either you’re preaching to the converted or you’re witnessing to folks that you cannot expect to utilize the same shorthand you’re accustomed to using. You need to unpack “lost” just as you need to unpack “became agnostic”.
Same comment. Unpack, describe in terms that the non-converted people in your audience would use. If they can’t relate, you’ve lost their attention.
That’s a conclusion. Don’t hit us over the head with your conclusion — either line up the sequence of events in such a way that WE draw that conclusion ourselves or else describe your mental processes, and how YOU ended up concluding that this had happened.
Also, you use “spirit” in a lot of contradictory and inconsistent ways. If you’re going to use “spirit” for these powers of evil and also refer to “Holy Spirit” you should elaborate on what they have in common that makes them both “spirits” while explaining how the good guys and the bad guys differ. You need to avoid tautologies; you can’t just say “evil spirits are the evil ones because they’re evil and stuff” — go into the “evilitude”, make it discernable; you need your audience to conclude WITH you that these spirits are evil.
Take another run at it. Try smaller chunks and get feedback on them before you go on.
Now that, right there, is your first and most fundamental spiritual error. Christ’s, too.
I was picturing William Shatner in The Twilight Zone, but that works too.
…or to take a pretty girl with you for a long weekend in Cuba…
Do they still have to roll initiative with a 6-sider?
When he throws it, does he have to make that annoying “Ya-ya-ya-ya-ya-ya!!!” Xena yell…?
You’d think he’d have a clicker by now.
Sight…?
Okay, then the son of this God character happens to look like the inhabitants of a tiny planet in the universe? A universe which could easily have countless inhabited planets. Are there other sons and daughters of this God for all the other planets? Are there other gods? Other heavens and hells?
What about my question about whether Christianity is correct worldwide, or only in a small piece of the earth around the vicinity of the Middle East. If it’s worldwide, or universe-wide, why is there no mention of other inhabited physical localities (earthly or otherwise) in the scripture?
he (it) does, and uses it to great effect
Okay, so there are other gods. How do they fall onto the other planets in the universe when there’s no up or down in space?
Proximity key, at least.
ScottRP, you signed up back in October of 2014, but you don’t bother to tell us about Jesus until now? What about all those poor Dopers that have died and gone to Hell in that year and a half you kept silent?
I have also, but then I used to live in New Jersey.
So, did Jesus ever tell you why he has been so delayed coming back? Traffic? Stuck inside of Mobile with the Memphis Blues Again? Busy with his soul collection?
BTW, them old visions are only in your head.
But David Copperfield isn’t God. He isn’t even a saint. This eyewitness evidence is totally different. So it is written, so let it be read; be unto him that is for him, and with him that which is along with him; and below him that which is under him; and for such is beside him that which is unto the left or right of him.
I don’t think that’s even his name!
