My aunt said that she and my mom had five guys for lunch.

Head east around 8 miles - they’re in your area, Rev. Up by the mall. Now, I know you west-siders don’t like to travel, but …

Never heard of it until today. I see Wikipedia calls it “quasi upscale fast casual.” What the heck does that mean? Is it a sit-down place with table service?

No table service at the place I went, which was set up like a deli.

The “fast-casual” or “quick-casual” tag is used by fast food places to indicate that they’re better than other fast food places. “Sure we serve burgers, but we ain’t no McDonald’s!”

Oh, Five Guys, how I love thee. None on the west coast, sadly. :frowning: But I’ve had it every time I’ve gone to DC, and just recently discovered them on a trip to Ohio, as well. As an aside, I was hit on (confirmed by my girlfriend, who was present at the time) by one of the male employees. It was rather flattering. I’d like to attribute the massive load of french fries we got to my effect on him, but alas, I already knew better.

In keeping with the spirit of the thread, I will say that I introduced my girlfriend to Five Guys for the first time. She really enjoyed having Five Guys, but said she felt much too full.

I used to Love Love Love Love Love Five Guys but now I’m hooked on Bobby’s Of course with only five locations your chances of having a Five Guys Experience is better than eating Bobby

Their food is good, and they have the best hamburgers in the area: but I have to split my order in half and take half home for a meal later. The calorie count is unbelievable. But the absolute best burgers are made by my husband, and I’d rather have burgers at home than go out any day.

I say this in every thread about Five Guys, but you can pre-judge the average quality of a Five Guys as being inversely proportional to the distance (in road travel time) from Northern Virginia.

Pursuant to that, do not go to the one in State College, unless they have seriously improved since they moved in here.

Their sausage sandwiches are pretty big, too.

Man, I can’t believe nobody has supplied the obvious comeback for the OP.

OP’s Aunt: “Your mom and I had Five Guys for lunch.”

OP: In a row!?!?

Actually they have locations in Cerritos and Carson. And more on the way, apparently.

I think At once!?! would be funnier, but that’s just MHO.

That’s what she told you. She told me she once had Five Guys in a car on a road trip.

I…

I…

falls to knees, thanks burger gods

I had no idea. I’m ashamed. And planning a weekend trip. I drove 40 miles for an omelet this past weekend. Driving 17 miles for a burger is child’s play!

Oh, I know about that. Who do you think was driving at the time? I was only referencing her first time.
