I’m laying in bed at the hospital, broken pelvis, the pain I can manage, but the itch is true torture.
Ummm… Ask a nurse for a thick strip of gauze placed so it runs under your back, with ends which you can pull it back and worth?
That was what nice people setting casts provide - talk about a killer itch - at a place encased in a cast!
Or have someone smuggle in a proper backscratcher (well, several, in case the staff doesn’t wnt you moving around
Also FWIW - if you are on opiates - it increases itching - if it is due to that - Benadryl can help - well known side effect and solution for it.
Good tip thx
Hope you got that itch sorted, and get well soon!
Here, lemme get that for ya’…

Broken pelvis? what a misery. I second the suggestion that if you’re on morphine or a derivative, let them know and perhaps they can change your pain management. I was on morphine after my spinal surgery and I thought the itching would drive me mad.
Im on tramadol, the itching is under control now. It may be tmi but, I never realized how hard it is to poop laying down, getting the pan under me is difficult and painful enough, but the pooping itself has proved to be a challenge lol
Thanks for your wishes Sandra, but I still have a long way to go, I got run over by a car after all No permanent damage though, thank god.
