My Bathroom Has Disappeared!

The MS Society, in conjunction with several local companies who do charitable work, are remodeling my master bathroom to be wheelchair accssesible.

They have removed the bathtub, toilet, sink, everthing! Down to the studs. Only the hardwood floor remains.

I am so happy. God be praised!
For the duration I am living downstairs in one of the guest rooms, as there is a guest bathroom on that floor.

Yeeeeaaa.

Nice! I hope the remodeling will go well.

I saw the plans. Looks cool. Wheel-in shower and every thing with hand bars and at wheelchair height!

Hope their work completes swiftly and “yay!” for a new bathroom.

Wait, this cool bathroom is going to be upstairs? I thought you had shifted to living downstairs permanently. How do you manage the steps to upstairs? And if it upstairs, we don’t get to use it during Dopefests?

But seriously, I am so happy for you!

I laughed. Then I laughed some more. Those last four words never go together. Congrats to OP and I hope his experience is not the norm

Wow, no shit?

I still climb the stairs, slowly and rest on the landing. The occupational therapist said as long it was safe it was good excercise.

A stair-glide is next on the list.

Thanks! The downstairs was big enough but next Dopefest I’ll give tours.

That sounds like it will be a dream come true.

Seriously, IMNSHO, comfortable and safe bathrooms are a hallmark of a civilized society.

Awesome. After reading the OP, I was hoping they’d rebuild it as well.
Enjoy.
