My beer diet is working!

Ok, I’ve lost 20+ pounds on this new “diet.” It’s not really a diet, it’s more of a lifestyle change. I’m not one to overeat, but lord I love beer(can I get an amen brother?). So here’s what I’ve done. Over the past few months I’ve weaned myself off Guinness, and other dark and amber beers. I’ve also started drinking Non-Alcoholic beers such as Kaliper (by the Guinness folks) these changes have helped some.

Here’s the kicker. For each real or every two NA beer I drink in one day, I run that many miles the next. This morning I ran 4 miles. That would be 2 real beers and 4 NA’s. This does two things: One, I exercise a whole bunch, much to my doctor’s delight, and two, I drink less because of having to pay the piper the following morning. Twenty Pounds! Woo-Hoo! If your curious, 9 miles is farthest I’ve had to run. I came up with one beer=one mile by looking a health sites such as react in Ireland, and some other Calorie Counter sites. They had javascript programs that roughly estimate Calorie values of various physical exercises. 135 C/mile seemed to be fairly consistent.

Sorry, just had to tell someone.

Hmmm … perhaps you’re on to something there.

Amen brother. I think I’ll jog over to the fridge and grab myself a cold one, too. You did say 10 feet/beer, right?

Holy crap! I’d have to run a half marathon every morning to do that diet!

Geez, I’d have to run to the moon on that diet.

No beer diet is complete without beer nuts.
