I wonder if there’s any way they can do a second season of this? If so, I really wish they’d let us know a bit more about the contestants earlier on. I was shocked to find out Robert was a former Marine. It would have made me look at him differently if I’d known. We know almost nothing about any of them. One was a successful car salesman–can’t they at least have told us HOW successful? How many years experience, what he did before that? What kind of education? What kind of job can Annette possibly have that leads her to believe she dresses appropriately?
That several of them seemed to BELIEVE not only that Excalibur is a real sword but that the owner of it must be pure of heart makes one doubt their intelligence level and their education. Craziness. When does “own” mean the same thing as “wield,” anyway? And if you believe in Excalibur in the first place, you should remember that it was thrown into a lake, not auctioned at Sotheby’s.
I loved seeing Mr Todd hustle them at basketball, especially the way he taunted David. Damn, he’s more than twice his age! Well done.
And I’m glad they finally did a task that didn’t involve selling. As on the Apprentice, those shows are nothing more than the female contestants putting on their hooker outfits. (I caught a few minutes of the Apprentice this week or last week and damned if two of the women weren’t wearing tight miniskirts and halters, and selling ordinary candy bars for five bucks each. The mind wobbles).
This week was definitely the best episode. I hope they have more good stuff for next week.
Can’t tell you how right you are about the Excaliber thing. I lost immediate respect for the woman who said that crap.
Robert was the only one on the show that I halfway liked. I knew he’d be kicked off, because they’ve been trying to weed out anyone who seems to be getting wise. Robert seemed to be one epiphany away from saying, “this is a prank show, isn’t it?”
Cancelled?? No more Whitney and her huge rack??? Say it ain’t so, Joe!!!
This just seems stupid on Fox’s part anyway. Haven’t they already paid for all 13 episodes or whatever? Seems like it wouldn’t be all that difficult for Fox to find a couple of “movie nights” in its schedule to show the rest of the series. But then again, that’s what I said about Wonderfalls, Undeclared, Firefly, Andy Richter Controls The Universe, Futurama, The Ben Stiller Show, Space: Above and Beyond, The Lone Gunmen, The Tick, Greg the Bunny, John Doe, Profit, Keen Eddie, and (ironically enough) Family Guy.
