My boss is a bastard, part 478

“Spunds” - I like this word. I don’t know what it means, but I like it.

So what does this guy actually do all day? Does he just reassign things back to people?

What is an assBaptist? Is that like an Anabaptist?

God knows. If it weren’t blocked by the school firewall, I’d think maybe he spends the day reading the SDMB. Mostly, yes, he reassigns, ignores, and generally avoids things. A chimpanzee wouldn’t be more useful, but at least it would be cute and funny around the hallways. I’m requesting the exchange be made immediately.

Oog.

More power to you, FisherQueen. I too had to endure some asshat administrators, right at the beginning of my teaching career. (sample: My first principal, after refusing to support me in dealing with troublemaking students, tried to transfer me at the end of my first year, but couldn’t even do the paperwork for that right.) Ended up clawing my way into a transfer of my choosing with the formidable help of the union. If ever you’re in my neck of the woods, I’ll buy you a drink and we can exchange war stories.

Of course, if you’re ever in my neck of the woods, I’d first have to ask, “what the hell are you doing all the way out here?!” which would be immediately followed by "what the hell am I still doing all the way out here?! which would be immediately followed by copious amounts of alcohol…

I would strongly suggest doing something about this particular issue ASAP. This is screaming possible legal action (by the girl’s parents) to me.

Oh, I did. As soon as I got that referral back, I emailed him, explaining that I thought he was wrong, and why, and CC’d it to my union rep. He called me in today to politely explain why he was right and I was wrong. The two of them were just playing, you see. He knows it wouldn’t be considered sexual assault, because he studied law.

I’m finished with that one. I did my duty, and I don’t feel like fighting him. At this point, he’s got me so stressed that all I want is to stay out of his way whenever possible.

The fear that it would be considered sexual assault was the potential legal action I was alluding to. “Just playing”, sure. Sheesh.

I can’t blame you one bit for wanting to let this drop.

I wish you all the luck in the world in dealing with this monster of a boss. I’m so sorry you have to go through all this.

DC

What kind of a school is that? Fankly, if I had hit someone like that, accidentally or not, I would expect to have gotten in trouble and pay for it. At the least, it would have impressed upon me the desirability of being careful not to hurt people. It might not have been fair.

I dunno, though. Maybe FisherQueen should do some CYA, just in case the parents bring action.

While she might want to document that she did refer the case properly, there’s nothing more she can do. Any punishment inflicted now would look like she was usurping Mr. Lazybones’ authority. And then he might get all Cartman on her hiney.

Okay then.
