My brother-in-law responded to a request for vintage Model A cars to be made available for filming in Chicago for Johnny Depp’s new movie, “Public Enemies”.
When he went there initially, he was told that not only was his car perfect, but he too would be perfect for a paid nonspeaking role, and they requested he return today with car and with period clothing!
Well, he did so, only to be informed that they needed him to have only a moustache, not the full beard he wore.
He quickly assented to a trim, and sporting his newly bare chin and his Model A and period duds, he was promptly filmed!
Here’s to hoping he makes the cut!
Excitement! I live in Wisconsin and only a full time job, an additional part time job, and a daughter kept me from driving across the state to see the Deppster on set.
The father of one of my husband’s closest friends had a car in the movie they made in West Dundee - it was either The Road to Perdition or the Untouchables. He had a great time!
Wait, they made him buy and bring his own period costume? How did they know what era he’d show up in? (say, a 1940’s suit for a film set during the depression) And where did he get it?
So, we already know they’re not going to be too concerned with accuracy. I still think it’ll be wonderful and can’t wait to see it.
