Glad to know that your PD is actively interested in your case.
I liked this quote from the vendor of that mace: This mace flange has 5 blades on the head. Bwaha!

I had some stuff stolen out of my car a few weeks ago and that was bad enough. I can’t imagine the whole car getting jacked.
My car is a rusty and battered 1993 Ford Festiva so it isn’t likely that anyone would want to steal it.
My sympathies, ExTank.

How did they get into yours? Mine was broken into (1988 Festiva L) via the rear gate twice (terribly easy to forget to lock), and via the passenger side door lock, popped via a screwdriver. I miss that little car! ![]()

To the OP, that sucks. Sorry to hear it.

Yup. I went in this evening to get printed for “elimination,” which means that they got multiple usable prints that are probably not from the same person. And the Maryland Heights P.D. seemed very anxious to get a complete list of everything stolen from the car, including dollar values.
They seemed kinda excited about the whole ordeal, instead of the bored/indifferent attitude I expected.

Wow, I am shocked. I got not help at all and even when I reported it and the police came they asked questions that sort of offended me.
Do you have a boyfriend? yes
For how long? over a year
Where is he now? at work, he works nightshift
Do your kids have access to your keys? yes
Where are they now? my daughter is in her room keeping the dogs from going crazy and my son just left for work before you got here
There were more but I can’t remember them all.
They found the tire that the crooks threw out they had me identify it and then they took it as evidence. What they thought they were going to get from a tire I have no idea.
When I went to the police station to get the tire after they found my truck the person could not find anyone with the keys to the evidence locker so I wasted a trip and lost time from work.
I gave up after that and figured I really don’t need the tire after that as I had no truck to put it on.

That’s the difference between a good PD and a poor one. Jackson was much the same; the officer responding to my call told me flat out that he thought my son had to have been involved in a ‘drug deal gone bad’ and that’s why he refused to list it as ‘carjacking’.
