Apparently the other cat didn’t cotton to him initially when we moved in, and bit him. The other day, pus started oozing out of his face in an incredibly disgusting fashion. It seems he had an abscess which ruptured. I sped him to the vet, who charged me $250 to keep him overnight, drain the thing, and put in stitches. Now I have to give him drugs every day, and the poor thing has to wear one of those lampshade things, which is absolutely the most comical thing I’ve ever seen in my life.
I just want to see if you will use your 3,000 post to respond to me in this thread!
Apparently not.
Boy, you’re a fast one! Now I know how you got 3,000 posts in the first place!
So, isn’t it time to screw some light bulbs into his ears, plug his tail into the wall socket and get some real use out of him?
[cat] Rowwwwerrrr BZZZTTT!!!.. [/cat]
Geez, poor kitty…and poor Matt for having to deal with the vet bill.
If it’s any consolation, I’m dealing with sick kitties and vet bills, too!
I just spent $150 on my dog’s annual visit, for vaccinations and heartworm preventative. And that doesn’t count what I just spent on the sick kitties.
Matt, is it Zazou who was injured? Forgive me for being out of date, but I’ve been (involuntarily) away from the board for a while.
I’ve thought repeatedly of your cute comment about him fitting in your shoe when you first got him – hope you and he are well/recovering.
Yup, it’s Zazou. Otherwise known as Zaz, Zazi, tinyfur, fur, whosafur, furfur, kitkat, sillyfur, etcetera.
Just wait until he tries to take a corner too close!
Pets will never cease as a source of entertainment. My dogs have started a circus act. Like elephants or horses, the little one will put his front paws on thge biggun’s back and the two will walk around like that. It’s absolutely fucking hilarious.
That’s all.
flup
Aw, poor kitty!
Give him tuna as a special treat!
{{{Matt’s Kitty}}}
i hope your cat gets well soon matt.
My sister had to find a new home for her cats, she could not keep them at her new house. So we got the older cat, Little Bastard, and Cotton the kitten went to my cousin.
Mikki got a cat because the family trip to disney in florida fell through. The kitten was loved, but the kids did not seem to know how to take care of it. Mike would sit on it, and if it was lying on the railng of the ramp, he would push cotton off the railing.
Time passes, and i was babysitting for my uncle when i noticed that cotton’s face was swollen. I pointed this out to my uncle, and he said “thanks for showing me this”.
i had been feeding it bits from my plate, i do know not to feed cats people food, but she was so thin, and i could not help it.
A couple nights later, while mike is sick, i notice that Cotton’s face is no longer swollen. Observed the cat for a few days, and the swelling had returned, cotton was unable to eat, so i sterilized a needle, found the gauze, peroxide, and generic neosporin, and tried to help cotton. One and a half ounces of pus must have drained from it,then i cleaned the wound with peroxide and put the generic neosporin on the wound. I kept the wound as clean as i could, kept putting salve on it, and tried to keep Cotton fron clawing it. Later in the month it had to be drained twice more,(also by me) and grandma  also did try to get cotton to the vet so it could be looked at, but no luck.
It did heal, after a month, but in August she got out and had not been seen since. i miss cotton
Poor cat!
You know what’s funny and disgusting at the same time? When a cat, still sick from the anaesthetic, throws up in his lampshade. Try cleaning that shit - ugh…
Plain funny is when they eat and lower the entire lampshade to the floor, covering their bowl. I think they actually like that part of it - keeps the other cats away from the food.
Also: any cat waking up from a full anaesthetic, and trying to walk again for the first time. Hilarious
