My darling Marcie's ninth aniversary

Hard to believe, but it was nine wonderful years ago that my darling Marcie and I stood hand-in-hand on the sand at the beach on Sanibel Island, reciting our wedding vows before a crowd of interested beach goers. It was kind of our last shot at doing one of the hippie things we used to do, back when we were young and beautiful.

Now, I’ve got to pry myself out of bed in a few hours to go shopping for a present and I don’t have any idea what to buy. She told me not to buy her anything, as in “Really, I mean it, I don’t need an aniversary present.” I didn’t find that statement to be very convincing. I think she really meant to say “I don’t know what I want, exactly, but I damn well better get something I’ll like.”

I need suggestions: What do you get for a woman who has a bunch of stuff?

I don’t have any great ideas for you as of yet, but I give you two thumbs up for your ability to really know what she’s saying. Right on the money!!!

I can say this, for me, a vaccuum actually would rate higher than anything in a Tiffany’s bag. But, perhaps that’s just me?? :dubious:

More stuff of course… tee hee.

You can never go wrong with jewelry, flowers, or chocolate. Or any combination thereof. And if you have flowers delivered to her work, you get extra points.

Containers and shelves?

Congrats on your anniversary.

Congrats, LouisB. Your wedding sounds lovely. It’s obvious that you and Marcie and totally devoted to each other.

Gift ideas: Art (it doesn’t have to be expensive, just something unique)
CD box set
Chocolate, flowers, etc.
Plants. If you have a house, you could even get a tree or a berry bush. If she’s good with plants, how about a miniature orange tree? They’re gorgeous, but not easy to keep alive.
Lots and lots of very romantic candles and candleholders

I was going to have flowers delivered to her work; she killed that idea by taking the day off.

After a lot of thinking, I just flat out asked her for suggestions; I ended up buying her several pairs of work suitable pants. She seemed happy with that, but I think I will have flowers delivered tomorrow, just as a safeguard.

You may not be young any more, but you are a beautiful person. Your posts, particularly about your bride, warm the heart.
