My doberman Jake has bone cancer

I’m so sorry. :frowning:

I’m sorry.

I’ sorry, StG.

I’m glad, though, that he got to spend his last day hanging with his buds and running.

I am so sorry. It’s so painful to say goodbye. I have been through it way too many times. :frowning:

How is your rescued dobie doing? Have you renamed him?

I’m sorry.

Thank you, everyone, for your sympathy. It helps, which is odd. You’re more than pixels on a screen.

I don’t remember where I read it first, it might’ve been here, but there’s a quote that resonates with me:

I’d like to be the person my dogs think I am.

From our pack to yours, condolences, and thanks for rescuing!

His last day was spent running around playing before he died in the company of a loved one. May we all be so lucky.

So sorry you have to go through this.

it looks like Drago will stay Drago. He’s doing just fine, settling in well and getting along with all the other dogs and cats. He’s already such a love. He’s such a good dog (except for being a chewer, which I’ll have to control) and so good with the the other animals.

Speaking of the other animals, I think they knew Jake was leaving. That evening, as he was beginning to go downhill, they clustered around him and licked him. Andy tried to get him to play, sort of “come on, big guy!”. They didn’t harass him, just trying to be with him.

Is it just me or is it dusty in here? I seem to have something caught in my eyes.:frowning:

What a wonderful life you gave Jake. Drago and the rest of your furry family are lucky.

I’m so sorry, StGermain. Jake was lucky to have you. Drago is a lucky dog.

I love this.
