my dog is hoarse any vets?

my dog was very hoarse today his bark was quite different than he usually is he seems fine and in great spirits but since he is my first dog i am concerned

How old is he? (Old dogs’ “voices” change with age.)

Is he eating & drinking normally?

Coughing? Barfing?

Lumps or swelling around his throat or neck?

Collar not too tight?

Not a vet, but quite experienced with dogs…

He could have brked himself hoarse. My Grampa had a Westie that would bark till she went hoarse. Most dogs are smarter than that though.

Also, allegies can lead to hoarseness. Like in people.

If he’s feeling fine (acting normally, running, jumpimg, playing) keep your eye on him, but don’t worry. If he’s acting sluggish, having trouble swallowing or won’t eat, see your vet.

Dogs are subject to a lot of the same upper respiratory / throat ailments as people. They can get laryngitis, and they can get hoarse from excessive barking like a human can from shouting. Not a vet, either, but if that’s the only symptom, it’s probably only a problem if it persists.
