My eating habits re sweets

This time of year (Jan thru April), there are tons of snacks (donuts, cookies, candy etc) in the kitchen at work. I completely abstain for six days and then once a week binge.

Might it be particularly bad to put that much fat and sugar in your body when it isn’t used to it?

Might it be better than spreading it out thru the week. My theory here is that maybe your body can only process so much of that bad stuff and the rest just goes right thru you???

This is largely how I control my weight. I am careful most of the week, then I have a splurge day. I haven’t noticed any real change in how it affects me, unless my splurge was salty. Then I retain a bit or water and have a lot of thirst.

I use this technique too except I spread it on two days :stuck_out_tongue:

I don’t know if your theory is right, but I think there’s a limit to how much I want to eat at one time/in one day. So, if I could be good and disciplined 6 days of the week, and then pig out on the 7th, well, I think I probably would do better and eat less than having lax rules all week.

What that does to one’s metabolism on the day and day after binging I don’t know.

How about adding a day of fasting somewhere without eating more any of the other days.

… or does your metabolism adjust that quickly such that fewer calories would be burned during the week.
