My eight year old son enjoys Risk, thanks everyone!

This is sort of a MPSIMS, and it refers to a thread that was started and still resides in Cafe Society, but it is game related.

Anyway I want to thank everyone who contributed to Tell me about Risk (the board game). My sister ended up buying the game for him on my suggestion, and he really enjoys it. Attention span is not a problem, we leave the game and go back to it later but have been playing for hours at a time.

So far we have only been playing the two player game. He doesn’t have any siblings, and no kids his age live nearby. I’m not even sure any of his friends are really ready for the game now but some of them will be eventually.

We’ve been modifying the two-player rules to create a game that suits us. Any other suggestions for versions of 2-player Risk would be great.

(For the moment I’m really only interested in the board game version, not online or computer-based ones.)

If there is a gaming shop anywhere near you, you may be able to drum up a few other players there.

I would recommend adults, as teenagers are big ol’ jerks. At least I was.
