I’d expect a parent to be sorry they slammed their child’s hand in a car door. That seems like the absolute minimum response.
I don’t really know what to make of your story. It sounds like a bad experience but I’m not clear about why it ruined the vacation. Because your fingers were to sore to take part in activities? Because your dad only asked how you were and did not get you some needed medical attention?
In any case, tell us another story about your Dad. Was he a good or bad dad?
The OP’s first language obviously isn’t English. Maybe the point to story is that in his country, fathers almost always sacrifice their children to the Gods after they have been injured so as not bring dishonor to the family. Hiis father showed some remorse and love so this must be shared worldwide as an olive branch of hope for us all. I am not sure my theory is right though. I would have expected a goat in their somewhere.
OP, as you can see, there are some nice people here at the Dope, and some are complete assholes.
I think your story is nice – every kid should be lucky enough to have a dad that cares about them. I didn’t, but I’m glad to hear stories about people that do/did.
Try not to take the harsh comments on here seriously, Gezmo. Sometimes people here can be rough on new people. Hope you stick around and continue sharing your stories. With anything that gets posted here, some people will like it and some people will hate it.
