My flatscreen TV is buzzing

please do so.

I got your instructions longPath, but PM server’s not letting me respond.

I followed your instructions, and the reset went through the motions of looking for cable channels etc for a few minutes. Now I’ve got snow. I can access the menus, and the picture settings I want are staying, at least. But I’m getting “Weak or No Signal” now.

What signal source do you use? (cable, satallite, digital cable).

Do you need to select a different input using the “source” key on the remote?

I use cable, and that’s the input I selected from a choice of Air, Cable and Air+Cable.

Hey longPath, I hit the Source button and the picture came back, and the settings have held! Thanks for your help bro! /salute

If you’re still checking this thread, longPath, could I ask you a question?

Is there much to be gained from paying for a professional TV Calibration for an LCD unit? I’ve got an LG4250 if that makes any difference.

Do you have any good advice for maximizing picture quality on my own?

Thanks.

Hi smoke

I have always been pretty skeptical about “professional” calibration of home video screens. It made a lot more sense back when most big screens had three CRT projection tubes and often could benefit from being converged by an experienced technician.

I have had good results using products like these:

http://www.ovationmultimedia.com/avia2.html

http://www.videoessentials.com/

They don’t require that you get into sevice menus but teach you how to understand how things like brightness, contrast, colour etc. and how they affect picture quality.

It can be a lot of fun.

Hey KO,

That’s great to hear. I was getting worried…:frowning:

Thanks longPath!
