She does indeed. Who is Josh Turner, do you suppose? Is Aunt Fritzi (or more likely the guys who draw “Nancy”) a country music fan?
Evidently. She’s wearing a Porter Wagoner shirt here.
I was amazed that there was a recent Cathy that made me laugh. I’ll try to find it. That was the second time thats happened in the, my God, 20+ years I have been reading it. Reading some of the comics is kind of like watching Seventh Heaven or having to look at the car accident for me. They are just so bad, you cannot believe that someone would find it funny to keep reading the SAME joke over and over. And not even good jokes. I am positive that the only people that still find Marmaduke and The Family Circus funny are the same people that keep America’s Funniest Home Video’s on the air. If I read one more Rose is Rose where she morphs into a biker chick in the middle of the day, I’m going to tear my hair out. I don’t know what the heck Gasoline Alley is supposed to be about. Dennis the Menace about to be near retirement age himself by now.
WHats sad about Cathy is the fact that, although I don't know what she looks like now, if you look at old photos of "Cathy" the cartoonist, she is actually quite thin despite her week after week "fat clothes" jokes.
BC I actually find funny at times. Even the Wizard of Id and Hagar the Horrible occasionally.
Damn. I was really looking forward to this one. I just got an “image not available” screen. Anyone care to share the joke?
By the way, my personal holy grail is to find the funny Fred Basset. If any of y’all have any leads, I’d appreciate it.
I can’t remember the joke, but I was surprised to see Otto in bed with a french poodle in one strip.
Of course, recently, “Get Fuzzy” had the cat flipping the bird to the “Antique Roadshow”-like host, so I guess Beetle Bailey’s level of crudeness has just reached 1976-levels.
I just found a History of Nancy.
Yeah, well, Bil Keane is supposedly a really nice guy too.
Doesn’t mean the Family Circus is fit for diabetics.
Very true, and I’m not saying he’s to be free from criticism. I just wanted to add a fact many Dopers probably didn’t know, from my own experience.
Thank you, Mr. Moto.
Chaplain Staneglass is asking Beetle to help him carry some things from the church. Beetle is showing carrying a large cross. One soldiers comments to the other something like, “Now what did Beetle do?”
