My graduate school is full of retards.

I just have one thing to say to that:

Cold War. Directed by CNN. 2012.

I’m sorry, I googled “Cold War” on CNN, read the entry, and don’t get it.
Probably *still *just me…

Allow me to be overly explanatory. You perhaps believe that I’ve ruined a good rant by using a politically charged term. However,

  1. I don’t really care if people want to pretend that the word “retard” should be replaced with “the r-word” or some other, weak epithet because they’re stupid, too.

  2. “Cold War. Directed by CNN. 2012.” is a quote from my OP which was a quote from a classmate’s submission. It’s re-quoted as an effort to demonstrate that my classmates are, in fact, retards.

I found the irony not in ‘politically charged’, rather it seemed so middle school
I do not doubt for a moment the veracity of your underlying thesis.

Meh. A good number of our derogatory terms for someone with low intelligence were once the same as “retard,” that is, a term for someone with a disability or disadvantage of some kind — imbecile, moron, idiot, stupid, dumb, half-wit, ignoramus, cretin, simpleton, … . I think it’s inevitable for a term like “retarded” to follow the same path.

Oh, it’s probably just another Gree reference. Y’know, he was originally Clone CC–1004.

“1004 was rewarded with a name and chose to be known as ‘Gree’, a reference to an obscure alien species”.

According to Wookiepedia (I just had to type that… I love that name), he led the 41st Elite… oh, I don’t really care. Who even had time to make all that up? But I had to come up with some rationale for Sampiro’s use of 1004, or I couldn’t get to sleep…

My online, for-profit, degree mill is full of apparently substandard students! I’m shocked!
