The money is good, but the best part is job satisfaction, honing my change management & process improvement skills, and that it signifies upper management really is supporting what we’re doing at our facility. Our management team at our facility and the business group of which I’m a part is on the forefront of changing the company culture from a very old school command & control/verbally beat the employees into line management style to one where employees are given a chance to contribute and help improve the business and themselves.
Which is not to say things are all rainbows and unicorn poop; we still have a long way to go, but at least the change is underway, and has been a catalyst for the entire company. It’s also impacting our profitability in a positive way, which is good for everyone
