My heart is broken... (about Obama)

Hearing media propaganda and seeing rEVOLution plackards does not mean you are aware. You had to actually listen to HIM.

No one who knew Ron Paul’s proven track record… or knew what Ron Paul stood for would have said this:

Obama was revered because the media revered him. The media gave him the coverage he needed to win the presidency. Had the media given Ron Paul the same coverage and respect, Ron Paul would have been publically revered and been made President, instead of being written off as an insignificant nut.

The same media that covered Obama’s alleged Kenyan birth and secret Muslimhood as credible stories? Yeah, lots of reverence there.

Let’s have a look at Ron Paul’s track record, shall we?

Taxpayers’ Freedom of Conscience Act, 2009: prohibits federal funding of any family planning activity. Yeah, that seems like a good idea.

H.J. Resolution 23: a proposed amendment to the Constitution to repeal the 16th Amendment and with it federal income tax. Tonight we’re gonna party like it’s 1899!

House Res. 962: suspension of income duty on lutetium oxide. Won’t someone please think of the lutetium oxide-dependent industries?

Make No Cents Until It Makes Sense Act: suspending production of 1-cent coins. Okay, this one I can get behind, the retarded name notwithstanding.

The American Freedom Agenda Act: restores habeas corpus rights. That’s a good one too.

Market Process Restoration Act: repeals federal antitrust law. Okay, that one’s a joke. Please tell me that’s a joke.

We the People Act: forbids all federal courts from hearing cases on abortion, same-sex unions, sexual practices, and establishment of religion, unless such a case were a challenge to the Constitutionality of federal law. Ah, yes - bar the Constitutional right to redress via federal courts. That seems like an excellent idea.

Marriage Protection Act of 2007: to limit Federal court jurisdiction over questions under the Defense of Marriage Act. Withdraw federal jurisdiction over a federal law? Wow. Man’s got balls.

Look, I don’t have anything against Paul. I just can’t take him seriously. He calls himself a libertarian but he opposes gay marriage. He calls himself a libertarian but he opposes abortion. He calls himself a libertarian but he opposes antitrust legislation.

He’s not a libertarian; he’s just a true conservative with some crackpot ideas.

I am totally aware of Ron Paul. However, I am also fully awake, and therefore understand that Ron Paul is no more a serious candidate than Ralph Nader or Dennis Kucinich.

Abolish the federal reserve? Return to the gold standard? Ask an economist what the net effect of either or both moves would be. I’ll tell you: a worldwide financial meltdown.

You know why Ron Paul is so big on gun rights? It’s because if his ideas are ever implemented, we’re going to need them, because we’ll be living in a Mad Max-style wasteland.

Whatever your opinions are about him, his record does back him up. He votes to limit unnecessary governmental spending, to encourage free market economics, to limit the government’s involvement in our economy. He has a traditional view on morality and it has never wavered. He votes consistently and from his heart. That makes him one of the most honest politicians in Washington. That has got to stand for something.

On a side note, you should seriously learn more about how the Federal Reserve System really works. Do you support transparancy? Do you think we should audit the fed? It’s never been done before. The fed has far too much power with absolutely no oversight. They actually stand above the law right now. But that will change once we start to see congress watching over them.

We should end this hijack. This is a topic about Obama, not Ron Paul.

We’re discussing one of the alternatives. That’s not a hijack, especially since I earlier pointed out that Obama is probably doing a better job than anyone else would be, given the circumstances.

“Voting from the heart” is not a good characteristic. You are, in essence, admitting that Ron Paul’s votes are based on Ron Paul’s personal ideology, rather than based on the views of his constituents.

You should seriously learn more about how the Federal Reserve system really works. The Federal Reserve is audited on a regular basis by the GAO and on a yearly basis by an external private auditor, and is and has always been subject to Congressional oversight. Congress is free to limit or extend its authority or restructure it at any time simply by amending the Federal Reserve Act. Hell, you can audit it yourself if you like: its financial statements are freely available online.

You would have gotten me there had I been a beer guzzling Bush fanboy conservative. Unfortunate for your entire attempt at sarcasm, I’m fully on board with practically every Democrat advocacy. I’m just not a fan of flash over substance - something a lot of you so fully embraced in Obama. And I don’t claim superior insight, just a view unobstructed by fanaticism and Kool-Aid goggles. Now grovel at my feet and worship.
