My hero died today

I’m so sorry for your loss, Chronos.

Your grandfather will never leave you. He lives on in your heart, and in the legacy of love and grace that he left. It seems obvious that what meant the most to him was his family, and from what I know of you from your posts, I feel sure that he was and is proud of the person you are.

You and your family are in my prayers, and in my thoughts.

My condolences to you, Chronos. Your Grandfather sounds like a wonderful man, whose turn off the mortal coil is a greivous occasion.

I sympathize. My Grandfather was a great influence and buddy to me. He died twenty years ago too soon, and I miss him to this day. He’s in my heart greatly, a testament to the love, and pure fun, he made each day for my family.

Strength to you, Chronos, and remember how lucky you are to have such a great example of how to live on this crazy globe. Yer a fine apple on his tree.

Thanks Chronos,
He sounds a remarkable man.
I miss my grandfather often, and think of him all the time.
Part of me feels he never left me, that he’ll always be right here with me. I hope soon you’ll feel the same.

Godspeed.

Chronos,
Thank you for sharing your wonderful images of your grandfather. My condolences.

Chronos, thanks for the stories - you painted a great picture of the man.

Not to get all General Questions on ya, but I think he was asking you “Jak se mas” - means how are you in Czech, probably similar in other Slav languages. The answer “Dobry” or “Dobre” means “fine/well/good.” Maybe you can find out how he knew that when you are home - it will probably lead you to a good story.

Take care of yourself. Hope seeing your family is good.

Big hug,
Mags

My condolences; I empathize, having lost my Grandfather last May. I lost a little piece of living history when he died. I wish I had a tape recorder, the last long conversation we had. Sigh.
