I may be overly suspicious, but, looking at your timetable, I couldn’t help but wonder about the guests at your roommate’s party. Any who were there at the time your roommate ended the party would be in a good position to know that the house was empty for once and grab the opportunity. It just seems more plausible than strangers hanging out in the cemetery on the random chance you might all go out at some point.
mnemosyne, I’m not sure if we’d be able to get a policy enacted since we’re going to be leaving in just a month and a half, but I’ll look into it. Argh, almost went the entire year without anything terrible happening, so close to the end!
Cher3, it does seem really suspicious but I probably should have better explained that the party was more of a get-together with just 4 other girls that we’ve all known since freshman year, it was a really small barbeque/drink thing in the backyard. They all left before Roommate 4 left to go study. The reason we think that they were watching us from the graveyard is that it is literally right behind our house. About 20 feet behind our back door is the steep, upward hill to the cemetary. There’s no fence, only a small strip of weak trees so with a little effort it’s easy to climb into and out of the cemetary from our house. The landlady would have been aware of strange people lurking around the house if they did it from her side, but the back is easy to slip in and out of and the opposite side is shielded from the public by a fence so that seems like the most likely point of access.
I wish I could say that robberies and buglaries were uncommon here but the opposite is true. Just today we recieved an e-mail about some important hard drives being stolen from the school that contained some private information. In the fall a big laptop-stealing ring was busted on campus. There’s been dozens of houses around us that have been buglarized, cars broken into, friends mugged…sigh.
