my idiotic jackass cousins latest political theory (or obamas plan to have an isis take over.......

You should slap your cousin

You’re Dan Patrick’s cousin?

okay, folks, this is the Dope…even in the Pit we’re fightin’ ignorance…
How many of us Dopers even knew that there is a category of US territory defined as “unincorporated, unorganized”? And that there are 11 of 'em? Well? Didja?

Seriously? Do you always ignore content and concentrate on grammar rules? Does that get you through the night?

Of course I knew. I also know how many pineapples are in a can of pineapple rings.

D’Anconia doesn’t do content.

Sometimes he complains we’re discussing something that doesn’t concern us.

Example: The Kentucky ( see? I got it right) clerk who wouldn’t issue same-sex marriage licenses.
He stated that unless one lived in the county, we had no business discussing it, being upset at it, it was none of our concern.
Too stupid to understand the national ramifications.

There were more, but you get the picture. And that was one thread in the Mundane Forum, not the Pit.

Trying to excuse yourself because other people do it is the sign of a true weenie.

So…still focusing on grammar, huh? Not content? As my dad would have said, “all hat, no cattle.”

“No brain, all bull” fits this situation better.

Ignoring the side discussion on grammar, I always wonder about this sort of thing. “Obama is going to be dictator for life.” Has anyone seen the man lately? His hair is completely gray and he looks weary and tired. I think he just wants to go home and spend what little time he has left with his daughters before they grow up. I don’t think he wants to be dictator for life!

He was leader of the free world, that’s enough for anyone. I feel like people think that the president can just issue edicts willy nilly and not have to answer to anyone.

When I took my oath of citizenship I had to learn about the three branches and about checks and balances. Sometimes I feel like it’s only filthy goddamn furriners who had to learn this stuff. What do they teach in schools? President can just do whatever he wants?

They won’t care. By that time they’ll have moved on to the next conspiracy, and at that particular time will be deeply immersed in the conspiracy of how Hillary stole the election. If they had any ability to notice that their predictions are always wrong, they wouldn’t be right-wing wackjobs.

Way back when dinosaurs still roamed the American continent, I was taught about checks and balances between the three branches of government. That said, people like idiotic jackass cousin may have been taught such things, but they never actually learned it.

He certainly tries to do whatever he wants. The pesky Supreme Court keeps ruling against him, often unanimously.

Politifact:[GOP leader: Supreme Court has ruled 13 times that Obama exceeded his constitutional authority](Bob Goodlatte said, "The 9-0 decision last week was the 13th time the Supreme Court voted 9-0 that the president had exceeded his constitutional authority.)
Ruling:False

Unlike DUBya, who took us to fucking war and got how many servicemen and women killed, not to mention the countless Iraqis who got killed. There aren’t enough rolleyes in the world. running coach has an even better link.

There is nothing I know that tells more of a story than comparing photos of a President at their first inauguration and at the inauguration of the next guy. It’s not just four or eight years of aging - it’s obviously been a trip through hell.

Which I managed to screw up.
Fixed.
Bob Goodlatte said, “The 9-0 decision last week was the 13th time the Supreme Court voted 9-0 that the president had exceeded his constitutional authority.”

So, I see you’re continuing the tradition of either being wrong about absolutely everything or else deliberately misrepresenting everything in order to promote your insanely distorted view of the world.

As your own link attests, the Obama administration has faced unprecedented obstructionism in Congress, so federal agencies have been playing a greater role resulting in more court challenges. The other major factor is the extremely ideological right-wing makeup of the court. And if you claim that the rulings are “often” unanimous, I don’t think you understand what the word “often” means.

The fate of the EPA regulation on coal pollution is a good example of all of this, and notably of the wingnuttery of the court when Scalia was still there:
The 5-to-4 vote, with the court’s four liberal members dissenting, was unprecedented — the Supreme Court had never before granted a request to halt a regulation before review by a federal appeals court.

He has the lowest winning percentage of any President, going back to 1946. And by at least a 10% margin. Some Constitutional Scholar he turned out to be.
