My kitty has a bald spot

No, I am not posting pictures-she would be humiliated. I’m going to have to take her to the vet, but it’s the weirdest thing. There’s no rash or lesion, and the skin looks fine. She’s not biting or scratching at the area so it doesn’t seem like an allergy or an infection. It’s only on her left flank, so it’s not in the right location for hormonal changes. She seems completely unconcerned. Could I have brushed her too hard?

How funny - my bunny has a bald spot. The source of hers is less mysterious, though… the other bunny’s been biting her. Such a mean bunny! Some might say… psycho.

How long has she had the bald bit? If its not bothering her, I’d say she’s just pulled out a chunk of fur somewhere along the line.

I’ve said it before, I’ll say it again: I hate cats.

My cat Denali had a similar condition at the beginning of June. I posted about it.

The hair on his tail is growing back in, but the hair loss is continuing down the tail. Is there any dry looking skin (flakes) in the fur around the balding area?

I started giving him cod liver oil mixed with some tuna or wet cat food. It seems to help the skin issue and the fur loss has slowed.

Has she been undergoing some recent stress? One of my cats developed bald spots on her tummy and at the base of her tail from obsessive grooming. Her brother was harassing her regularly, so I loaned her to an ex-girlfriend so that she could been queen of her own domicile (the cat, not the ex-girlfriend) and the spots filled in quickly.
