Has anyone else read this book? Oh man, I can’t believe how quickly it sucked me in and held me down. What a fantastic story!
I would definitely urge anyone looking for a new book to read to give this one a try. The main setting is a sleazy travelling circus train during the Depression and Prohibition, and the characters are outrageous enough to knock your socks off, but believable enough to develop real feelings toward them.
I didn’t want any spoilers in this first post, but if anyone who has read it wants to talk about the book I’d love to hear your thoughts. If you haven’t read it yet, watch out for spoilers in this thread!
I read it about a year ago. I enjoyed it a lot. As I recall, it was the author’s first work of fiction.
I dunno how well I can discuss it now, though, what with my terrible memory and all. I remember key points of the story, and that it kept jumping between the present day and the Depression-era circus.
I read it a few months ago. I couldn’t put it down, and yet when I got to the end, I felt somewhat unsatisfied by it. Plus, there were some things at the end that I didn’t agree with, but I need to figure out spoiler boxes to talk about them.
