We’ll have to find a pony with a peas-in-punnett-squares cutie mark to find out for sure.
So i know I’m way late to the pony party here, but apparently some people are trying to popularize pegasisters. I kind of like it.
The common knock against “pegasisters” seems to be that it’s hard to say. I’ve seen people substitute “pega-sis,” although that one’s tough to pluralize.
How often is it being said, realistically?
Pinky hangs out with Portal AI Cores
Space…wannagotospace!
I always loved this bit from Ponies: The Anthology.
Pega-sister is just…trying way too hard. To be honest, I dislike brony as well. Call me pretentious, but I really just prefer “fans.”
I don’t think I read it here, so sorry if I am repeating something, but I read yesterday that after Pt 2 airs Saturday, there’s going to be a break before new ones start again.

Roddenberry warned me that I had no idea what I was getting into with Star Trek. Someone should have warned me about My Little Pony! Egads!

Probably the best piece of MLP artwork I’ve seen so far (warning, big files)
Part1
Part2
Part3
Those are really well-done. Not sure I like the “jilted lover” angle, but the artwork is fantabulous.
On a completely different note, find out what would happen if Rainbow Dash went up against a Decepticon. Featuring the most apropos pony-related quote of all time: “This is a pony. A baby horse girl toy. Why is it so awesome!?”
First Youtube streams for episode 2 are up!
Pretty satisfying ending, although like part 1, the pace felt a little rushed. Loved the expansion of the ponies’s alternate personalities - Flutterjerk in particular is all kinds of hilarious. I like that the episode didn’t really hinge on finding the Elements of Harmony, but rather on Twilight’s realization that her friendships are what make her who she is. The brief montages from season 1 were a lovely touch.
And holy crap. That ending. I just about fell out of my seat laughing. It’s literally a shot-by-shot remake. Who sez this show is only for little kids?
I knew it was horribly familiar, but I couldn’t put my finger on it.
yeah, I thought it was weird too, especially the back and forth between Twilight and Spike. Now it makes more sense.
It was a fun episode
I cringed. I’m reasonably sure that ending wasn’t put in to pander to the adult fans, but it seems pretty darn blatant.
The Star Wars reference couldn’t get much more blatant, could it?, personally, I liked the Discordverse version of Equestria better than the normal Equestria
Let’s see, we have chocolate milk rain (a reference to the YouTube “Chocolate Rain” video perhaps?), pie-rain, all it needs now is Donut Rain and Homer Simpspony could move right in
I’m sure that Discord’s manifestations and dissapearences using a snap of the fingers and a flash of light were an offhanded reference to John DeLancie’s infamous “Q” character from ST-TNG, I was kind of dissapointed that DeLancie didn’t find a way to work some form of “Temper, temper, Mon Capitane” reference in…, Discord DID seem to have the smugness that “Q” was known for after all…
Of course, my evil, twisted little mind has been thinking up some thought experiments of how some of my favorite movie genre styles would respond to being “Pony-fied”…
The Classic Vampire Movie (no wussy Twighlight “sparklepires” here), weakened by daylight, must feed on blood, can turn other ponies/dragons/etc into vampiric organisms, no mirror reflections…
I think the two best (worst?) index-cases for the start of the Vampire Plague (released by Nightmare Moon, perhaps?) would be either poor, innocent, kind-hearted Fluttershy, she would be devastated by her transformation into a Pony of the Night, or Rarity, the inability to see her reflection would devistate a pony that prides itself on appearance, Pinkie would be just crazy enough to enjoy vampirism somehow (she would definitely be Clan Malkavian)
The Slasher film (Friday the 13th, Nightmare on Elm Street, Halloween), I see Pinkie as the slasher here, she’s just insane enough to snap, the “hero” would be Applejack, Twilight would be the nerdy skeptic, Fluttershy and Rarity would be the ditzy victims, Dash would be the dumb jock
The Zombie Apocalypse film; our heroines vs. the entire zombified population of Equestria, sort of a “Zombieland…but with Ponies!” thing
yes, I may as well accept it, me, cynical, emotionless, logical MacTech has now joined the herd, it is illogical to deny the fact that I am becoming a Brony (dear Og I HATE that term, so frakking stupid…
oh, and why do I find this kind of competitive idiocy so amusing?
aeiou…John Madden!
My niece is the perfect age for MLP (er… discounting Brony ages, of course). Her brothers are loopy for Star Wars. So, she knows everything about Star Wars. (And Harry Potter.)
I’m pretty sure it was put in to pander to kids for whom that scene is just as much a part of their culture as it is for most adults.
I’m a 28 year old nerd and I have no idea what you’re talking about. What are the Star Wars references? Aside from Pinkie Pie being like Jar Jar, of course…
What? it obviously WAS put in to pander to adult fans. What other reason could there possibly be? i don’t think my three year old niece got that.
Never mind, I hadn’t clicked on Barkie’s spoiler link.
Like Lightray said, there are older kids who’ll get that. Three’s really too young to understand the show’s Aesops, I think.
Besides, Season 2 was under way almost before Season 1 got on the air, and more than likely before the periphery demographic really got rolling. It’s possible they went back and changed the ending, but unlikely.
Thiessen, the new showrunner, has said recently that they aren’t looking to entertain adult fans. They’re making a kids show and entertaining themselves in the process. He asks for a celebratory ending, and the storyboarder shows up with a Star Wars rip/homage just to screw with him, and it goes in because why not? Discord was based off Q not to pander to Trekkies, but because Lauren Faust had been binging on TNG before writing those episodes. They decided to push the Q angle and wanted a de Lancie impressionist to do the voice, and they said, “Well, why not just get the man himself?”
The jokes pander to the adult audience only inasmuch as they amuse the adults working on the show. Doesn’t stop the Star Wars ref from being painfully blatant, but it wasn’t put in to suck up to the adult nerds watching.
