I do have to give the artists credit for the faces. I have seen pictures of what other MLP series’ ponies apparently looked like, and they looked weird. These ones look cute.

Hopefully this’ll stop people claiming she was lying in CMC… (Of course it won’t, the fact that the Sonic Rainboom being in it made no sense if she was didn’t stop them, the hair won’t either.)
What did people claim she was lying about and on what basis?
Everything. Growing up on a rock farm, ever been a gloomy, unsmiling child. Because the rock farm is too weird, relative to pegasi being responsible for weather and rainbows tasting like pure cayenne pepper.
Oddly enough, looking around, the similarity in the hair does seem to have convinced people the story was true, where the Sonic Rainboom didn’t. (Although some people do think the ‘rock farm’ is too weird to be true. But, whatevs.)
On th’other hand, the same surfing indicates some people seem to think this episode is a reference to an infamous shock-fic (not giving the title to avoid creating schmuck bait), so I’m still facepalming a bit.
Well, chick be trippin’.
I’m about halfway done with my own fic. It’ll probably hit about 10k words when it’s all said and done, which is nowhere near as long as I’d like it to be, but it’s still pretty hefty. I am enjoying the hell out of writing the dialogue. Another excerpt is in the spoiler box, in honor of the latest ep:
[spoiler]“Cupcakes! Cupcakescupcakescupcakes!” The shrill, cheerful voice grew louder as O’Neill and Fluttershy kept on the road toward the infirmary, and he could see activity near a brightly-colored building. A very pink pony was bouncing around in circles, a plate balanced neatly on her curly mane against all laws of physics. He slowed as he saw who she was bouncing around.
Teal’c stood there, motionless except for his gaze which tracked the pony. O’Neill had never known the big man to have a wide range of emotion, and he certainly wasn’t displaying much even now, but O’Neill could read the spocked eyebrow and wary expression on the Jaffa’s face. He was apprehensive…and if O’Neill didn’t know better, frightened as well.
The pink ball of energy didn’t even seem to notice. “C’mon, big guy!” she chirped happily. “They’re good! You gotta try one! You’re our guest, right?” She stopped bouncing for a moment, planting her feet on the ground and mock-glaring up at him. “It’s bad manners not to try it!”
If O’Neill’s cynicism had a hard time facing Fluttershy, Teal’c’s implacability couldn’t stand up to this pony. He let out a long sigh. “As you wish, Pinkamina Diane Pie. I will try a cupcake.”
The pony stopped and stared at Teal’c, her mouth falling open slightly. “How do you know my full name? Everypony just calls me Pinkie Pie!” She looked at O’Neill, eyes wide, and he could only shrug.
“Don’t ask me. He’s just…like that.”[/spoiler]

Ugh my last post got eaten but what I said was…they live in a world where ponies control the weather, where Fluttershy can channel Barry White, and where a river monster thingy losing half its mustache is cause for alarm…and a rock farm is too weird? Who ARE these people?
The thing is, that wasn’t the story of how Pinkie got her cutie mark. That’s the story of how Equestria was formed.
Pinkie never lies. Reality… less consistent.
Anyone else bummed that the season’s over?
Fluttershy’s plotline was my favourite…I cracked up. Yeah, and Pinkie’s the scary one. o.o

I about died laughing at Celestia’s response to the whole mess. The woman is a total troll. At least she uses her powers for good, or at least fun.
Note that Princess Celestia has a golden apple tree. Who else do we know of that likes to play painful jests on people and also has access to golden apples?

It takes a few minutes to get to the meat of this, but it’s very worth it.
Yeah, that was my reaction to the whole thing. Then again, this is the same gal who put her sister in the moon for a thousand years. And where IS Luna these days, anyway? Is big sis still doing creepy things to her?
This has been one of the most productive fanbases I’ve ever seen. It’s really quite astonishing. Some fandoms may have more total works, like Final Fantasy or Capcom/SNK or many popular anime/manga series, but the rate at which FiM fan material is produced is unlike anything I’ve ever seen.
