My puppy has a tumor!

Tigger has another lump. :frowning:

It’s below the skin, whereas the first lump was in the skin itself. I’m taking her in to the vet again tonight and I’m going to have it looked at.

Her incisions are barely healed, and I have to take her in again. Bummer. I think I’m going to start calling her Tigger the Lumpy Dog.

Damn Stephi, sorry to hear it. Please keep us up to date.

I am living with a dog whose days are numbered, but it’s ok. Most days we forget all about the impending doom and just love him and have a blast.

Give Tigger a big wet sloppy kiss for me (and maybe a small table scrap- Angus likes steak).

The vet says she’s not too worried about it, she measured it, and we’ll keep an eye on it. From the shape, and size and location it’s probably a fatty tumor, which is a type of benign growth.

Fatty tumors (lipomas) are very common in golden retrievers. The vet can probably just aspirate it, but if it keeps coming back it can be removed very easily. My 11 year old golden retriever, Snoopy, had 18 (!) of them removed last summer. She looked like a patchwork quilt for a while, but bounced back from the surgery very quickly.

Hugs to Tigger!
