My really weird dream.

Warning: Kind of long, but rather interesting.

Oh man, I need help.

Okay, here goes. I’ve got to catalogue this somewhere, and I figure someplace people can make fun of me for it is as good as any.

So I’m in some kind of medival setting. It’s very ritzy, not a dank castle or anything, more like an palace out of arabian legend. And we’re all being ruled over by some cruel dictator, who has just kidnapped some girl I care about. Cant remember who it was, though. So I figure, enough’s enough. I’m a Warrior, so I’ll storm the palace, rescue her, kill the Ruler, and make all things right again.
So I’m running into the palace. To avoid the guards, I leap into the ceiling boards and cling, making my way along the roof. I do this, passing over walls of various rooms, until I come to a very, very large hallway which leads to the Ruler’s chamber. (at this point some unknown entity told me that this was foolish and I’d die if I didnt turn back. I summarily told this entity to eat me.)
Suddenly, the ruler comes down the hall in his litter, girl prisoner in tow. As I’m determining the best way to overpower his rather impressive guards, a silver arrow thocks into the wood beside me. I look up and see three (really good looking) women with wings flying at me, bows drawn and ready. So I take off.
Cutscene. I’m now running down a street of the city, dodging arrows from the women in chase. And then, damnit, I get hit in the leg. No longer able to run, I turn and draw my sword. (now the fun begins). So I stand there, deflecting arrows with the blade, moving slowly towards them as they still move towards me. Finally, once they’re close enough, I leap up straight at one and cleave her head from her body. I land, and another screams and pulls a knife, charging at me. so I smack her with the flat of my blade to knock her aside, spin around and slice her right in half, through the middle. Now the third is still shooting arrows at me. I block a few, and then haul back and hurl my sword at her. It flies up and stabs clean through her chest. After she’s fallen I retrieve T’ton and start heading back to the palace to complete my mission.

Then I wake up.

Last time something like this happened I woke to find my hand, in real life, embedded on an exposed nail in the wall. Luckily i no longer have sharp objects near my bed.

But I still cant help thinking… Damn. Now THAT one’s weird.

Any comments? Want to share your own? Go ahead. I just had to get that across, to SOMEONE…

If you’re really lucky you’ll dream the next episode/chapter tomorrow & so on until it is finished…I did that once, 7 nights of sequential dreams.

Okay, you win. Never managed to pull THAT one off…

Wow. Kind of a mix of Arabian Nights and The Matrix, with enough Spider-Man to keep things interesting, there.

My trouble is, I can never remember enough of my dreams. It’s probably a defensive mechanism, since most of the more memorable ones generally are based around persecution and/or execution, but has anyone heard of any techniques for remembering more of your dreams?

How coincidental. I also had a dream last night where I was in a medival/fantasy world, and there was a group of about eight of us. It reminded me a lot of a dungeons and dragons game, actually.
I won’t describe it, as it would be too much of a hijack. Just thought it was worth mentioning.

And for the record, the best way to remeber a dream is to write down as much as you can remember as soon as you wake up. Because you are still partially in your un-concious state, and if you wait, say, till after you shower, you will probobly forget most of it.

Feel free to share. I just wanted to document that somewhere, so lets make it a dream discussion thread in general I suppose.
Do tell, if it should please you.

Facinating…

I’ve heard that you can learn to wake yourself up after a dream, which is the best time to write it down (you’ll remember more). I love sleep too much to try this, though.

I have some evidence this works, as to this day I have clear memories of a dream I had in my youth. In this dream, bullies were coming for me, so I ran into my house where my Mom was folding laundry.

“Mom,” I said, “these bullies are going to hurt me. Would you scream so I’ll wake up?”

My Mom said, “no, I’m not going to scream!”

“But Moooo-oooom. These guys are going to get me!”

“No,” she said. So I turned around and screamed (in my dream) and promptly woke up.

Which reminds me of a friend of mine who had a dream where he was at a party, trying to convince everyone that it was all a dream. Nobody believed him.

“It’s true,” he said. “If I wake up now, you’re all toast.”

That sucks. I had a dream where I lunged to stop my cat from running under my desk in my room, and as I was waking up right after that, I promptly lunged in the exact same manner out of my bed, at which point I realized that it had been a dream.

Once, after a particularly violent dream that I cant remember a lick of, I awoke to find I had no control over my left arm. it was flailing wildly, on its own. I grabbed it with my right arm and managed, somewhat, to subdue it, and gave a mighty yell. My brother and the guy who was sleeping over at the time ran in, took one look at me and proceeded to help me grapple with my arm. finally, after two or three minutes of holding it down and yelling at each other as to what we should do, it stopped, and I had control again. I moved it, and, my brother tells me, I fell straight backwards on the bed, asleep.
I thought it was a dream until the next morning when my brother asked me what the f*$k happened to my arm. I still dont know. It had never happened before and has not happened since.

Hah! 9.5 on the bizzarometer.
