I always took my Jeep do a different (and closer) dealer than I purchased it from. For warranty and non warranty work.
As for the rental, the Chrysler dealer always provided me with my choice of used cars for a rental. (They were quite surprised when I chose a 20 year old Gran Fury over the used 300Cs and Chargers they had on the lot). My warranty provided that the dealer was to provide me with a “comparable or better” rental.
I have to apologize I completely forgot about this thread.
Good news and bad news.
Good news: I took it into the dealer on a Friday night, as explained in the OP, and they had the problem fixed by Monday AM, when I got an email saying a hose wasn’t properly clamped down.
Bad news: The repair cost me that $80+ Uber ride, plus I had to rent a car for the Monday to not only visit customers but to get back to the dealer who was 70 miles away. Overall, I think the repair still cost me $200 or so.
Overall, I was more than satisfied with the speed of the repair; I probably would not have been so had I been on a cross country trip.
I also had one other minor warranty issue----the left front plastic bumper kept popping out. Ford took care of that, NQA, and gave me a ride home after I dropped it off----of course it was the original dealer, and only 8 miles away.
