My tomato plants died.

I’m very sorry for your loss.

I think those of us in the Dallas area and a little further south must be lucky… the only real disease we get is Early Blight, and that usually doesn’t kill the plants outright, just makes them kind of sick.

I’ve never had insect problems on tomatoes. Cabbage, squash, cucumbers, black-eyed peas have all had infestations of various sorts, but not the tomatoes, oddly enough.

Late September. I live in the foothills of the Cascade Mountains; we get occasional freezing temps through May but then we get great weather all the way past Labor Day.

I have the small cherry tomato-type plants in Topsy Turvies and one of them is a monster – three feet from the lowest part to the highest – with plenty of tomatoes growing on it in various sizes. They actually DO work!

I should say that I am in the New Orleans area.

As was mentioned above, harden them off before transplanting the next batch.

Weather’s been bitchin’ here in Santa Barbara. My tomatoes are already starting to fruit! I’ve also got a tub full of volunteers that I’m curious to see what happens to.
