I just went on a trip to Michigan, my home state, for 8 days. I moved to Tennessee from Michigan last September. My trip there, although there were many fun times had, was utter chaos! This would be a long story, but i’m going to shorten this as much as possible…
We drove to Michigan. That’s a big deal for me, since my Aspergers doesn’t take sitting in a car for 11 hours too well. I would be fine, but since I have been swimming a lot, I accumulated an ear infection in my left ear. Changing altitudes with ear infections are NOT fun by any means.
I somehow manage to get there in one piece.
I was stuck with this god awful ear infection for most of the week.
Since I was going somewhere, my mother insisted that I wear some makeup. That doesn’t seem like a problem either, but it is. I do not have good skin, it’s oily. I’m allergic to an ingredient in face wash. I believe it’s Salicylic acid. The last time I wore makeup on my eyes, I got a stye in my eye. She still put it on my eyes anyways. The next day… What do you know, a stye showed up!
So, I had an ear infection, and a stye at the same time. They were on one side of my face! My left ear, and my left eye.
I had to attend a funeral, that was the main reason that we came up. My great grandmother had passed away. I was never extremely close to her, but it was still sad regardless. The service was beautiful. I just felt angry that I had to go around with clogged up hearing and an eye that looked like someone rammed their fist into it.
The day after, World War III started. A fight had started over something so mundane and idiotic between my family and my grandparents. However, I knew this fight was going to break out eventually, the situation was volatile. The situation was volatile for more than 20 years. Well, me and my brother were dragged into it, and it was not good for either of our mental health. It’s taken care of now, but christ on a bicycle, it was a wild ride from start to finish, and then the day after the fight, we drove home.
Have any of you ever had such an experience on a trip? It looked like it was going to be fine, but exploded into something you didn’t think was going to happen? I’m curious. [del]And maybe it’ll make me feel better.[/del]
