My Uncle Killed My Grandmother's Cat

GRRR

I hope the cat comes back and claws his eyes out! What a horrible way to die!

Someone here once mentioned a quote by Mark Twain: Your pets are not in Heaven yet, but they are lined up at the gate, waiting for you so you can go in together…
(Yes, I know I butchered that…)

I don’t like what your Uncle did, but it could have been a lot worse. A few weeks ago a woman came into my hospital with a 5 week old kitten. She rescued it from her neighbor, who’s cat had had kittens. The mother cat got hit by a car, and all the kittens had upper respiratory infections. The neighbor didn’t want to be saddled with a litter of sick kittens, so he put them all in his drive way and RAN THEM OVER. The kitten the lady had was the only one who survived. We told her she needed to call the police and Animal Services, but she was reluctant to do so because she has to live next to this guy. I wonder if she ever reported him. I really hope she did.

Every time I think I’ve heard everything, something new comes along.

Esprix, the kitty might still be alive - there are feral cats in my neighborhood that have survived New England winters for years.

Cyndar, that is just so sick and sad. Why are people so goddamn ignorant?

Baker, what the hell is wrong with people? If those jerks had to get in their car anyway to dump their dog on the side of the road, why not take it to the pound? Oh yeah, gotta teach the kids a lesson -

These animal threads always make me depressed. :frowning:

Hey Esprix, we might be related. Reminds me of my grandmother. Once, my aunt and uncle went out vacation for two weeks. After about a week of watching her son-in-laws two dogs, my grandmother got sick of them and had them euthanized. I really don’t like her.

 HOLY SHIT!!! I’d have beaten that piece of shit senseless, granny or not!

No, you’re a moron. There’s a difference.

Erm, what’s happening to this thread? I was replying to a post by r_d_a_w_g .

Voice: see Alphagene’s Housecleaning thread. There’s no point in leaving the dawg’s droppings on our message board.

Hey, Esprix, hope your aunt and uncle didn’t have kids. If they’re this way toward an animal, don’t know if I’d trust them with a human life…

I like the poster idea. Plaster it all over town. Put extra copies in front of your local animal shelter. In front of the local chapters of the Humane Society and PETA.

Chances are that cat is going to do better off in the wild than you would expect. I know it sounds cruel, but cat’s are able to survive extremely well in the wilderness, better than you or I. They are remarkably skilled at catching and eating birds and other animals. Chances are, if it wants a home it will find its way out of the woods and into a nice family. Remember; cat’s are agile, intelligent, creatures that have good predatory instincts due to the fact that they have always hunted alone. Dogs on the otherhand are only skilled at hunting in packs, so the chances of a dog surviving in the woods is significantly less than a cat. On the flipside, dogs are good scavengers, unlike cats, so it could be 50/50. Don’t worry about the cat, worry about what your going to do to your uncle.

Ugh, Espirix that’s so horrible. Makes me wish Hammurabi’s Code was still on the books. Fuckers.

And oldscratch, it’s ok, you don’t need that horrible old batlady. We can share my grandma.

Like everyone else said. It probably survived. My first cat was declawed and totally housebred(we gave it food one day and it came back) it managed to take down mice and at least one rabbit and right now is a outdoors cat that routinely sits outside in 30 degree weather.
