Soon as she can hire a lawyer she’ll sue your ass. Or drag you onto Jerry Springer for a bad mother special.
Hell. My mom drank like a fish (vodka straight), smoked 2 packs a day and was over 40 when she gave birth to my brother. we think it explains why he’s a yuppie.
hmmm - so I’ll be sued by a yuppie… Guess it’s time to start spending all my assets then… Ungrateful child!!
Why is it that people feel they know the true way and have the need to inflict it on others?
I am an ovo-lacto vegetarian, and everyone else in my house is not. And all of my pets eat meat products. I have not studied what prehistoric humans ate, but think it is highly possible that they ate whatever they could to survive.
We modern people have the advantage of living in an advanced civilization and have a choice of what kind of diet we would like to eat. That does not give us the right to try to intimidate someone else into making that same choice. Sheesh!
(And by the way, that Gary Kumquat has some biting remarks to add. Welcome to the boards.)(And to everybody else who is new, Hi from a sorta newbie too.)
Vegans don’t eat honey? Why not? I know it’s an animal product (in a way) but the bees weren’t forced to produce it, right?
Don’t jump all over me, I’m just asking.

Ok, there have been enough of these threads that I should know this, but does the “ovo-lacto” mean you DO or DO NOT eat eggs and dairy?
A regular vegetarian eats no meat, chicken or fish, but will eat eggs and dairy, right?
A vegan eats no animal products at all, including, apparently honey.
The ovo-lacto eats…what?
I will eat eggs and dairy products, and that is what my understanding of the terms are.
Well…
In the past, FISH wasn’t considered MEAT. See, that’s why on Fridays us CAtholics were allowed to eat fish sandwiches instead.
Didn’t you ever wonder why there were so many places serving fish on Good Friday?
Of course, I have always considered fish meat. But apparently, for some reason, it hasn’t been thought of so in the past. That always confused me when I was little…
Hey! A question for Cecil-Why isn’t Fish considered to be meat?
A vegetarian is a person who abstains from animal food.
A fish is an animal.
If you want to call fish meat, fine. If you don’t want to call fish meat that’s also fine. It’s semantics. Your call.
But a fish is an animal.
That covers the vegetarian area.
And smilingjaws, if your sister is not rude she is at least inconsiderate. I guess I could smile and accept most of it as a family member, but when she starts telling my kid how wrong and unthinking her Mom was…right there that sister just jumped off the cliff. It’s time for some frank and honest sister talk.
