So I apologize in advance for any typos - since I can’t see my monitor.
Sometimes, when I get up, my vision is blurry for a few seconds. This usually passes when i rub my eyes.
today is the first day of my vacation. I stayed in bed late, mainly because I could. But also becasue I was avoiding cleaning my house. I finally forced myself out of bed at 5:-5pm. I rubbed my eyes and put by glasses on.
I went to the kitchen and rubbed my eyes again. I made myself a bowl of corn flakes with a banana and got a glas sof OJ. I rubbed my eyes again. I brought my food to the living room and sat down at my compter and rubbed my eyes again.
It is now 5:45. I’ve been up for half an hour, and awake for over 2. My eyes are still blurry. I’m starting to get worried.
I can see big shapes but they’re all fuzzy. If I move my head very close to my momitor (about 1 foot away), I can read the screen.
I don’t know what to do. But, I know one thing for sure - I can’t clean my houselikt this.
I hope this clears up. I can’t imagine the horror of a vacation in which I can’t read or play WoW.
Funny.
Actually, it has cleared up a bit. I took a very long hot shower and the steam seems to have helped. But, the steam cleared my head enough that I’ve also noticed that I have a sinus headache. I’m gonna take a sinus pill. If that doesn’t help and I’m still blurry tomorrow, then I will go to the eye doctor, since he’s closed now.
Unfortunately, I can see well enough to clean now.
A guy my husband works with had his vision go all wonky on him over one weekend last fall. He ended up going to the emergency room because he was fine then he woke up with super blurry vision.
Turned out he had something wrong with his kidneys. He ended up missing a nearly a month from work.
He was a subcontractor that had recently been hired to full time and was still in his probationary period of employment so he had no time off to take. My husband ended up “donating” a week of his vacation time to this guy so he wouldn’t have to without pay (a bunch of other people gave vacation time to him too- the department heads went to HR to work out the deal or something).
Hopefully your situation is not something so scary, please go see a doctor.
Since I stayed in bed so long, it was too late to call the doctor when I noticed the problem. But, I’m pretty sure it’s one of two things.
My sinus headache - which is mostly gone. As it’s gotten better, so has my vision.
Once my vision cleared enough, I was able to read the info paper for the prescription I started taking yesterday. Apparently, one of the possible side effects has something to do with vision - but it doesn’t say what. I’m gonna check with the doctor who prescribed the script.
I’ve had so many tests and bloodwork done in the last year, to find out why I’m always tired. They all came back normal. So I’m pretty sure there’s nothing actually wrong with me. They finally decided that I’m so tired because of RLS, which is what the prescription is for. If I have to choose between blurry vision and being tired, I think I’ll take being tired. At least I’m used to that.
It may be a migraine not a sinus headache. I am too lazy to do it for you, but if you google “migraine sinus headache” you will find that there is some recent research that indicates that something like 90% of “sinus headaches” are actually migraines clustered in that area. I occasionally get debilitating “sinus headaches”, with minor blurry vision and nausea, but now I realize that they are likely migraines since no amount of decongestants, pain relievers, or steamy showers ever helps.
