You might try google mail. I hear they have better sort & search capabilities.
Day-um, I thought my school e-mail was bad (over 900 unread messages, none of it spam).

While the presentation is quite different with Yahoo, the capabilities for searching and sorting are about the same as Gmail.
Edited to add: And I should know; I have more than 3500 messages (from a ten year period) in Yahoo, and more than 1300 in Gmail.
I do use Gmail, for the most part.
When I sign up for stuff or have to supply an email address, it goes to the Yahoo one. But that used to be my main email, and I’m sure plenty of people only have that address for me, so I do try to keep an eye on it to see if there’s anything important…
