MYLEGS & Employment contracts

Anyone run into a case where plaintiff alleged an oral employment contract for a fixed term, over one year, and the defendant raised the Statute of Frauds, 29 Chas. 2 c. 3, as a defence?

The canonical case is McIntosh v. Murphy, 469 P.2d 177 (Haw. 1970) (holding that promissory estoppel bars assertion of Statute of Frauds defense). I say canonical, but it’s probably come out other ways in other cases. It is featured in a lot of casebooks–or at least, Making and Doing Deals: Contracts in Context.

Sorry, what the hell just happened here? I am guessing this completely obscure legal question was just completely answered cited and resolved in 3 minutes?

And they only charge $15/year for this place?
